Global Workers
Bethany & Jafar Fatahian
Bethany started helping with youth events and camps in 2015 and moved here to work full-time in 2018. Jafar came from Iran to Serbia in 2016 as a refugee (he WALKED from Turkey to Serbia). He was a part of the first Lifegate Persian group and has served with the group ever since. They assist all the campuses in connecting with youth and planning engaging events. They also assist in refugee work and are eager to serve in new ways as situations in the world change in these days. Bethany studied Intercultural studies in University and is fascinated by culture and people in general. Jafar studied programming and is an amazing cook who loves solving puzzles and problems. They both share a love of soccer, culture, working with children, and most of all Jesus. It is their prayer that their lives would help others meet Him.
Kurt & Emily Wagoner
Our family has been part of Lifegate since 2002, and we have a deep love for Lifegate, our leaders, and our amazing Lifegate family. Emily has served in Women’s Ministry and worship, Kurt in various worship capacities (most recently as Worship Pastor of Lifegate Fremont), and our five children have been involved in all levels of youth and children’s ministry. In 2016, we felt the call of the Lord to help Lifegate build campuses in the Balkan area. We’ve since made seven short-term trips to the Balkan area, including two with our entire family for 6-8 weeks at a time. As we journeyed back and forth, we felt more and more strongly called to the Balkans and to what the Lord has on His heart for the people in this part of the world. In June, 2022, we had the opportunity to move with our three daughters to Novi Sad, Serbia, where we serve with our Serbian campuses and support team-building, worship, and campus-expansion endeavors. At this season in our life, we are calling Novi Sad, Serbia our home. We are more than grateful to be part of God’s dream for the Balkans, and even more excited to partner with Lifegate’s global movement in the process!
Rebekah Miller
Rebekah grew up attending Lifegate Church. As her personal relationship with God developed, she became burdened for Jewish people around the world to know Yeshua (Jesus’ Hebrew name). After a short-term global journey to Israel with Lifegate, Rebekah moved to Israel for a year to learn Hebrew and study the Bible. She completed her Jewish Studies degree in Chicago and began volunteering in Jewish ministry. She is moved with compassion for the majority of Jewish people who have never once heard the good news of Jesus, though they yearn for the coming of the Messiah (Christ/Savior). In fact, less than 2% of Jewish people worldwide believe that Jesus is the Messiah! Rebekah is currently serving as an outreach worker with Chosen People Ministries in Chicago. You may not know... Chicago has one of the world's largest concentrations of Jewish people! Ministry to the Jewish people of Chicago looks like home visits to immigrants from Eastern Europe, life-on-life discipleship with new believers, leading Bible studies, evangelistic outreaches, and college campus ministry... all with the goal of sharing the good news and love of Yeshua our Messiah. She is beyond grateful to partner with Lifegate and help people everywhere discover the love of Jesus!
