Contentment in a Culture of Never Enough - Midtown

Ever have the thought “If God loves me, why is this happening to me?” Did I do something wrong? Is God mad at me?” I think we all have. Is it possible that suffering could be a part of God’s plan for our lives? I know, it doesn’t sound fun. We serve a God who emptied himself and became human. By doing this he redefined greatness. What does it mean to be a person of humility? How do you become humble? And as we become thankful and grateful to God, it opens the door for contentment and the joy of the Lord to be manifested in our lives, which is a powerful testimony to the world!

What do you do when you are in the midst of suffering, but actively trusting Jesus and nothing is happening? How do you remain there without getting bitter, or trying to take things into your own hands or losing faith altogether? Paul, in this final chapter exhorts us to pray, petition, and present our requests to God in EVERY SITUATION. A relationship with Jesus guides the way to the mystery of contentment.
